Leave a Legacy

Impact youth for generations to come with planned giving.

Our young people depend on the support of their community. County funding only provides us with a fraction of what it costs to provide housing, mental health services, and enrichment opportunities to our clients - the rest is up to us, and bequests will help offset that for years to come. Our “Living Legends” ensure that our work will continue as long as there are local young people who want to heal and grow.

Legacy gifts may be added to the Endowment Fund, used where the Youth Homes has the most immediate need, or dedicated to activities of the donor’s choosing. By including Youth Homes in your will, trust, or estate, you make the most lasting impact while unlocking a variety of personal advantages. Let’s look at a few:

  • A bequest costs nothing now, yet gives you the satisfaction of knowing you have provided for Youth Homes in the future

  • You retain control of and use of your assets during your lifetime

  • You may modify your bequest if your circumstances change

  • Gifts to Youth Homes from your estate are exempt from federal estate taxes. Youth Homes, Inc. is a US 501 (c)(3) public charity, Tax ID/EIN 94-6132571

A look at what your planned giving does…

  • “I [name], of [city, state ZIP], bequeath the sum of $[ ] or [ ] percent of my estate to Youth Homes, Inc., a nonprofit organization with a business address of 1200 Concord Ave. #450 Concord, CA 94520 and a tax identification number 94-6132571 for its unrestricted use and purpose.”

  • What are different ways I can provide a legacy gift?

Donors often execute their planned giving in the form of stocks, bonds, real estate, retirement assets, cash, or insurance.

Can I decide how I want my gifts to be allocated within the organization?

Yes, a “restricted fund” allows the donor to chose how funds are allocated. This can be specified in your will, trust, or estate.

We chose Youth Homes as one of our charitable givings because we have been very impressed with the staff and agency and their dedication and compassion to bettering the lives of abused and traumatized youth. We are hoping that many of the clients will heal enough to be contributing members of society following the support and therapy they receive. Running an agency such as Youth Homes is very costly and if we can contribute to their success then that will please us very much.
