Healing Happens Beyond the Therapy Room
Experiential Therapeutic Services (ETS) at Youth Homes helps youth build confidence, connection, and resilience through therapeutic adventures, creative experiences, and real-world opportunities. Every experience is intentionally designed to help young people practice the skills they're learning in treatment while discovering they belong, they’re capable, and there’s a big, beautiful world out there beyond the trauma and challenges they’ve experienced.
Help us continue to improve and expand these critical healing opportunities for our clients!
Healing isn't just something we talk about - it's something we experience. Whether a young person is creating art, hiking a trail, singing karaoke, or trying fishing for the first time, each activity becomes an opportunity to strengthen therapeutic skills in a supportive environment.

"It's one thing to teach coping skills in therapy. It's another to watch a young person confidently use them in real life." - Youth Homes Life Skills Coach

ETS offers hands-on, activity-based approaches that help young people work through difficult emotions and experiences in ways that go beyond traditional talk therapy. Instead of focusing only on conversation, this approach uses activities like art, movement, role-play, and other creative or body-based experiences to help youth express feelings, process trauma, and build healthier coping skills in the moment.
-
Each ETS experience is thoughtfully designed to include therapeutic modalities and yield positive mental and behavioral outcomes for our clients. The intentional approach of ETS is what turns a nature walk into an opportunity to process internalized emotions, or a cooking class into a mindful moment of self-care and community building.
-
ETS is critical because many Youth Homes clients experience deep depression, anxiety, and isolation, often limiting their access to connection and new experiences. Due to financial barriers, these opportunities would otherwise be out of reach. Through ETS, youth build confidence with each positive experience, strengthen a sense of community, and practice skills from treatment in real-world settings - where healing and growth come to life.
-
We are always looking for new ways to expand opportunities for our clients and their families. If you have a connection to life skill classes or workshops, eco-therapy experiences, event tickets, or other activities, please reach out to Natalie Fassio.
