Connect. Advocate. Empower.
We believe in healing, optimism, and the human capacity to grow and change.
Since 1965, Youth Homes has supported underserved youth and young adults with complex mental health and behavioral challenges. We provide a broad scope of services designed to empower young people and their families to create positive, sustainable change.
Annually, we serve over 150 youth and their families through an innovative set of services rooted in a trauma-informed approach to care. 90% of the youth we work with struggle with unresolved trauma due to experience with or exposure to violence, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect.
Our services support basic needs, create safe environments, and provide therapeutic support to build optimism and confidence for the future.
Youth Homes’ skilled team of clinicians and counselors use an individualized approach to meet the needs of each client. They role model positive social skills and help youth develop effective coping behaviors. Through this process, youth recognize their self-worth, the value of their opinion and voice, and feel empowered to advocate for themselves.
We are proud of our long-standing partnerships with the county, educators, social workers, courts, and clinicians. These relationships enable us to work together to heal trauma and put the well-being of youth first, which means listening with the intent to understand and collaborating on decisions to create positive long-term outcomes.
Youth Homes understands and is sensitive to the impact that societal oppression and social and economic injustices have on our clients, staff, and communities; therefore, we are committed to serving from a trauma-informed perspective that promotes a culture of safety, empowerment, and healing.
