Staying Connected with Our Youth Homes Family During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Greetings Youth Homes Community,

First, let me say it has been a pleasure learning more in-depth about Youth Homes over the last couple of weeks. I am disappointed that my first communication with you is of this nature, however, we are living in an unprecedented time and must push forward with what is best for our young people. Today, I write to you, in collaboration with the newly formed Youth Homes COVID-19 Communication Task Force, to address developing concerns in regards to the current situation.

Essential to our mission, is ensuring the health and well-being of our young people--this is on our minds more than ever as we navigate through this crisis. Please be assured that Youth Homes is taking all possible measures to keep the participants of our programs, staff members, and volunteers, healthy and informed. As previously mentioned, Youth Homes has established a Communications Task Force to keep you informed of key developments. Please see below for the most recent updates:

Beginning Tuesday, 3/17/2020

  • The Youth Homes main office will be closed with business operations continuing remotely.

  • Community Mental Health Program staff will provide services to youth and families remotely via phone or video conference.

  • The Youth Homes Thrift Shop will close temporarily and will reopen once the Shelter in Place order is lifted. There will be no volunteer activities at the shop during this closure.

  • Our four residential treatment homes will continue to operate as normally as possible--this aspect of Youth Homes programming has been deemed as an essential community function due to the critical need of the youth using these programs

While this is challenging time for all, you can be sure that the team at Youth Homes will continue earnestly in our mission, while also doing our part to ensure the health and safety of our community and those in our care.

In the coming days and weeks we'll continue to keep you updated.  Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions. Thank you for your support!

Be well,
