Youth Homes’ fifth summer horse program was the most transforming experience yet for 9 teens from various Youth Homes programs. Hosted by the Double GG Ranch, and the kind owners who volunteer their horses, the summer horse program connects young people with animals in a fun way that fosters a sense of connection, pride, and leadership.

We partner with some of the most challenging youth and young adults in our community. We say ‘challenging’ not because of who they are, but rather what has happened to them.

Ryan began his journey with Youth Homes after being removed from an abusive and neglectful home. After a year of being in residential treatment, Ryan was ready for a foster family and was placed with Amy.

Keon* was referred to Youth Homes by his elementary school. Sadly, Keon's bright and witty personality was being overshadowed by negative behaviors due to a history of trauma and mental health challenges. Unfortunately, these challenges created problems related to school--Keon frequently refused to attend school and when he did, his severe tantrums resulted in suspension.
