CEO's Update: July 2020

Hello Friends,

Thank you for your continued support and investment with Youth Homes. I hope that you are doing as well as possible during this challenging and uncertain time.

In March, I enthusiastically joined Youth Homes as CEO, and as you can imagine, it has been a busy and exciting five months! Since the COVID-19 Pandemic forced us to shift operations, every element of Youth Homes’ programming has been impacted. From quickly pivoting to telehealth services to keeping 24 high school students occupied during quarantine, we have been challenged and inspired daily.

Although this moment poses significant challenges to our programming and typical fundraising events, Youth Homes is strong, and we are confident in our long-term sustainability. We are responding appropriately with relief from the PPP Loan along with internal restructures that improve efficiency and deeper impact. As we continuously strive toward long-term sustainability, our confidence is strengthened by the tremendously generous support and advocacy of donors like you.

In the coming weeks, we are launching our first ever match campaign to celebrate 55 years! Typically, we hold several live fundraising events through the spring and fall. While we will miss seeing everyone in person, we knew we needed to get creative to keep our community safe and healthy. We are hopeful that our supporters will double down on their investment in Youth Homes to celebrate this momentous occasion. We know that, like us, you believe deeply in our mission to empower and positively impact our community's most vulnerable youth.

I would also like to take a moment to introduce you to our newly promoted Chief Development Officer (CDO), Liberty Franks. Liberty, who began her journey at Youth Homes as a volunteer, was initially bought on board as our Grant Writer. Liberty begins her new position on August 17 and will be reaching out to connect with you in the coming months.

I am grateful for your support and partnership. If you have any questions or would like to chat one-on-one, please do not hesitate to reach out. I would love to speak with you and get to know you!
