Our New Mission Statement
When Youth Homes was established in 1965, our primary focus was residential care for at-risk youth. Over the past 55 years, the Child Welfare system has transformed considerably, and as the system evolved, and the needs of our community shifted, so have we.
Andersen Kitchen Renovation Revealed!
Spurred on by an incredible $50,000 match from the Youth Homes Auxiliary, our 2018 Fund-A-Hope raised almost $119,000 to make kitchen improvements at Andersen! See the post for the incredible ‘after’ shots.
Youth Homes Partners with Lady Gaga's ‘Born This Way Foundation’ for #BeKind21 Campaign
Youth Homes is thrilled to join with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation (BTWF) for its second annual 21 Days to Be Kind Challenge to encourage young people, families, and teachers to build habits that foster kindness and promote the strength and wellness of their communities, and will participate in the challenge by performing acts of kindness for 21 days, beginning September 1st.
Summer Garden Program's Bountiful Impact
Youth in the Summer Garden program has been working diligently all summer, and their work paid off last week when Youth Homes staff were able to purchase fresh fruit and veggies harvested by youth.
Summer Horse Therapy Program Gallops Forward!
Youth Homes’ fifth summer horse program was the most transforming experience yet for 9 teens from various Youth Homes programs. Hosted by the Double GG Ranch, and the kind owners who volunteer their horses, the summer horse program connects young people with animals in a fun way that fosters a sense of connection, pride, and leadership.
